There must be some kind of way out of here....

Just sharing some fun photo manipulation photos I messed around with. The Jimi Hendrix X Red Dragon one below was very challenging, once you take the guitar out you need to fill it with a lot of background so I meticulously cut and pasted several different layers.

LOL the ol' switcheroo with the baby heads, I laugh so hard making these, always a fun time.

Lettering

Here are some examples of my hand drawn custom typography. I like doodling letters, its a challenging and precise process to make a good set of letters flow and be visually appealing.

Here's a member of Nickelback wearing one of the Dussault font tees at the video awards show...

Now back to some fun illustrations....

Some new illustrations I finished.
Sorry about the bad pictures, I didn't get a chance to scan them properly before they left my house.
They were fun to draw, thanks for looking.

RANDOMNESS

Some random scribbles and sketches that I wanted to share...

I decided to enter the Fecal Face Free Fridayz contest this week, the theme was "self portrait" so after numerous frustrating attempts to draw myself I settled on this one.

Zombie

It's refreshing when I get to sit back and hit the sketchbook to come up with new designs for Red Dragon Skateboards. Here's a few new RDS designs.

It was Vancouver's Zombie Walk today, the halfdead got me inspired to come up with the RDS severed zombie knucks!!!

Thanks for looking.

Back to back

A few fun illustrations of back piece tattoo designs. Thanks for looking.

The skull and snake drawing was for a trade with a great tattoo artist from Philly. I'm always up for art trades so inquire within, they're fun side projects.

Revolution Army

I recently got contracted to do some designs for a new apparel company called http://revolutionarmy.com/. The team over there is great and I'm looking forward to some of the designs we're working on. Here's a little peek into an early concept we're working on.

Here's a shirt I drew for Revolution Army that Tommy Mac from the Canadian chart topping band Hedley is sporting at the Much Music Awards.

MoneyBag

Did you know that Gene Simmons owns the copyright on the "moneybag" symbol-you know the one were trainrobbers would steal a bag with the money symbol on the side, that's the one. He's owned that symbol for over 20 years. Recently he signed a deal with Dussault Custom Ink to market the MoneyBag name and create a clothing line. I got to design a bunch of cool stuff and here's a peek into some of the designs.

Here's one of the designs that went to production and can be bought online at Moneybag.

Fecal Face and Juxtapoz

This was a black pen and white pencil crayon on cardboard illustration that was showcased in Juxtapoz. http://www.juxtapoz.com/ is an art magazine that I am an avid fan of, lots of talented artists get showcased in the publication.

Fecal Face had a cool theme this week for Free Fridayz and I didn't want to pass up the opportunity, the theme is rip off a favorite artist. I decided to bite the artwork of Jeremy Fish. Check out his work here http://www.sillypinkbunnies.com/ Jeremy Fish is renowned for his morphing subject matter and his linework.

There is a great turnout for this weeks theme and its cool to see different interpretations of how people would rip off a favorite. I really like Shawn O'Keefe's Dave Kinsey rip off and considering the prize is Dave Kinsey's work it was a fitting entry.

Here's another image I entered into the Fecal Face contest a while back that scored me first place. The theme was balloons.

Red Dragon

I'm stoked to have Red Dragon skateboards as a client. Red Dragon has been a driving force in the Canadian skateboard scene and prides itself with having those Canadian roots. Here's a peek into some of the designs that I've been creating for them. I've got a bunch more stuff to finish up for them so stay tuned as I'm sure I'll be showing them.

I was excited about doing a parody of the infamous Jim Phillips Santa Cruz design. Jim Phillips is a legend in the skateboard graphics scene. Here's my interpretation for Red Dragon. This was the first time I attempted a graphic solely using CS3 and a tablet, I'm still learning and hopefully improving.

Dussault Custom Ink

I've been doing lots of great designs for Dussault Custom Ink and wanted to share some of the designs.

The van monster illustration was a fun design that I pitched to Dussault. Jason Dussault liked he so much we brainstormed a bunch of more ideas and below are the results. Thanks for looking.

Dragons and Dutchman Tattoo

After working thru my tattoo apprenticeship in Gastown, Vancouver at Twin Villain, I had a great opportunity to study the art of Asian dragons under the renowned John the Dutchman. The Dutchman is a westcoast tattoo artist that paved the road for custom tattooing. He has one of the nicest studios in Canada and a very talented crew of artists that work there with him. Studying Asian art and tattooing in a shop that talented was intimidating at first just trying to fit in. Here's a few more dutch inspired pieces I drew...
